You can hire a single company (a general contractor) for construction of the entire project or you can outsource the work to the various trade specialists such as masons, carpenters, roofers and electricians, acting as your own general contractor.
  4. Get the prices of each contractor for the work required. If you use a general contractor, this figure will be substantially equal to the total cost.
  5. Add the costs indicated by contractors to the prices you got from materials not included in the prices of these to generate the total cost of construction.
  6. Add the costs of quotas permits construction, architectural fees, insurance, financing fees and legal costs to arrive at the total cost of building the house.
